The Portable BBQ's Cultural Advance Continues

Neo Buddy and E2go portable BBQ’s from Everdure, have just been short listed in this years Australian International Design Awards.

Designed by Tiller Design with the passion only of the thought of a hot summer afternoon on the beach can muster. We are thrilled that this range of BBQ’s has reached the design awards shortlist.

With the same cultural impact an innovative kimchi fridge has in Korea, these BBQ’s are set to bring that wafting smell of steak to a park near you.

Sorry to all the vegetarians out there - we did provide split hot plates so you can enjoy a veggie burger or two.

Enjoy your coffee and paper in the morning?

Whilst sipping an exceptional espresso from Otto on Australia Day, I turned the page of the Sydney Morning Herald to find an article sharing the excellent design and quality of the Otto with its readers. Later we learnt the good people of Melbourne were enjoying the same experience through a story in the Melbourne Age.

The real story is the engineering and industrial design excellence behind the patented Otto, which has created new ground in home coffee making, and enjoying sales around the world. Read the full Brewing up a business story in the The Sydney Morning Herald.

Its been a huge year and we have achieved a great deal.
Tiller Design
Its been a huge year and we have achieved a great deal.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, to all our valued clients and suppliers.
Christmas often makes us reflect on the years achievements. There have been many this year and the foundations are in place for even greater success in

Here is a summary of 2009, hold your breath.:

Tiller Design won new design business in Canada, North America, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Asia. We continued to work with old and established clients. Our medical and scientific device design work expanded on the back of the launch of Tiller Scientific+Medical Pty Ltd which specialises in Product Design and Product Development with the medical device, Scientific and military markets.

Delegates from our design team traveled to design management conferences, the IDSA conference in Miami (where we picked up a gold award), Medica 2009 in Dusseldorf and DesignX.

We introduced Drive 2 Design an internal forum where we debate and discuss: design trends, products and generally enjoy broadening everyone’s knowledge (with the occasional beer). If you visit the studio the back wall holds the history of these discussions.

Lots of new products designed by Tiller Design hit markets around the world, energy saving products designed and manufactured by our companies continue to roll out across the world, reducing CO2 emissions and saving power. The team learned new skills and have performed brilliantly and diligently throughout the year.

We have developed Channels into North America for a range of new products. We have new staff joining us in January, and are wrapping up the year on the 18th December.

Most importantly we have built great relationships with all our valued clients and worked very hard to deliver commercial success for our clients.

Have a safe, Happy Christmas and New Year. See you in 2010.

Congratulations Jo!

It is always exciting when one of our designers gets their work recognised.

Joseph Ormrod - Senior Industrial Designer with Tiller Design was a finalist in this years entrants. Making the top 10 with his elegant Genus-Side Table, Jo made enough money to buy us all a drink and have plenty of change for… well, we are still waiting to here what he spent it on.

Congratulations from all the team at Tiller Design. Take a look at Jo’s table in the Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award 09 article.
